5 Broken Support Heroes in 7.39e Meta

I don’t know why they buffed Spirit Breaker AGAIN, but he was already really good before but now in 7.39d, they gave him better base damage and damage at level 1, so with Boots of Speed you can more comfortably walk in, deny or secure a ranged creep or harass enemy supports. And Spirit Breaker is still ever so relevant because he can enable other lanes with his initiation while not missing a step in his levels despite leaving his lane. This is all thanks to his innate ability, Herd Mentality, which helps keep the team afloat, meaning he can stay within the level range of your team even if he is especially proactive with ganks or rotations and not always in-lane to build up his experience and levels.

Spirit Breaker really comes into the meta fold because the hero is especially powerful in a meta that revolves around map pressure. With heroes like Axe, Dawnbreaker, Legion Commander and more, Spirit Breaker helps continue to provide a global presence with a consistent level of ganking initiation through his Charge of Darkness. He’s also particularly helpful in shutting down some jumpy heroes like Storm Spirit or as a way to interrupt carries like Sven during his ultimate’s duration or Juggernaut before he pulls off Omnislash. What makes him such a formidable support hero is that he really doesn’t need many items: Drum of Endurance, Shadow Blade and that’s pretty much it. Shadow Blade especially is incredible on Spirit Breaker because he can pop it for extra speed while charging and deal a strong initial nuke damage through his Greater Bash passive ability. What’s more is even after you hit the enemy, your Shadow Blade invisibility remains intact so you can still rely on it to safely initiate and run away with increased movement speed from the Bull Rush facet. So that level of global threat at all stages of the game by a Position 4 Support is what makes Spirit Breaker so strong. That he can lead or assist in ganks across the map, making heroes that need to farm, unlikely to be able to do it in peace.

I feel like Snapfire is always relevant at TI, but I could be wrong. She brings a lot of utility. High magic damage, armor shred, some crowd control, a weak ‘save’… Kind of a bit of everything, so you’re never really unhappy having a Snap. Shredder also gives a good way to break things like Tombstone and Phoenix Egg. I know in at least one of the games, there was an Undying on the enemy team, so she coulda been a counterpick.

Free sort of force staff, great damage, -armor for pushing, can break wards/egg/tombstone fast, scales well

Her innate is very good in laning stage, her shard is really good for farming, and also has healing, she just scales really well in all stages of game, high damage, good farming, etc. And she got buffs for like 3 patches, u can abuse mortimer damage and cookie talents with her shard, there’s too much damage from those spells.

Flexible and decent lane on top of a undying meta, she helps counter his tomb early. Also a good support that helps killing with her ult if someone setups. I think that if undying wasn’t so popular she wouldnt be picked as much.
